The Disciplinary Committee has imposed fines on Club Brugge and Union for the misconduct of their fans in recent months. During the match between Club Brugge and Union (5-0), a man with a yellow-black Flemish flag in a home stand raised his arm in the air and performed a Nazi salute. Club subsequently spoke out against the man, identified him, and blocked his subscription pending further procedures. "We are happy to say that this man was unable to attend the title celebration," Club Brugge said during the Disciplinary Committee meeting. Union filed a complaint against the man and thus against Club Brugge, in search of solutions across clubs. Blue-black showed what it already does in the fight against racism in general and took action against the man in question. It was disturbed by the fact that the club had to stand trial, while Union clearly wanted to target the supporter. The Committee decided, based on all the efforts of Club Brugge, not to impose an effective sanction. The fine of 2,000 euros can still be effective in a subsequent incident. Union itself must pay 3,500 euros in fines. In the cup final against Anderlecht, the fans lit pyro three times in the stands. During the hearing, Union argued that it was a loaded match, with more fans than usual, and that it was doing everything to prevent such incidents. At the same time, the incidents had no impact on the normal course of the match. The Committee had partially listened to the arguments and imposed a lighter fine than the bondsparket had demanded: 3,500 euros instead of 5,000 euros. For RSC Anderlecht, whose fans lit a multitude of pyro and thus had an impact on the match, it is still unclear what penalty will follow. The bondsparket demanded 10,000 euros in fines for purple-white.
