RB Leipzig expresses interest in Tresoldi

Club Brugge has already let go of Christos Tzolis and Raphael Onyedika this summer, but Nicolo Tresoldi remains a prominent target for foreign clubs. The German striker broke through last season and is now the team's leading attacker at the Jan Breydel Stadium. RB Leipzig is interested in Tresoldi. This introduces a second concrete name alongside FC Barcelona, which is also looking for a replacement for Roberto Lewandowski. The Polish striker moved to MLS club Chicago Fire, where he must repay Hugo Cuypers.

Barcelona considers Tresoldi as an alternative

Barcelona had already mentioned Tresoldi in its search for a new centre-forward. The Catalans are negotiating over Julien Alvarez and Lautaro Martinez. Journalist Ekrem Konur writes that Hansi Flick proposed Tresoldi as an alternative if Barcelona cannot secure Alvarez.

In that context a fee of 50 million euros is mentioned. This would allow Club Brugge to receive a record amount for the striker. The club paid 7.5 million euros for Tresoldi in the summer of 2025.

Contract and market value

Tresoldi is contracted to Club Brugge until 2029 and, according to the provided information, has a market value of 25 million euros. His contract position gives the national champion a strong negotiating stance, while interest from Germany and Spain could further inflate the dossier.

The question remains

Leipzig’s interest does not mean a transfer is imminent, but it does increase competition around a player who has taken a key role at Club Brugge. For Blauw-Zwart this is a dossier to monitor closely during the remaining transfer window.

The main question is whether the interest will translate into concrete steps. For Club Brugge, a lot is at stake: Tresoldi is the sporting attacking leader, but his potential departure could also bring a significant financial windfall.
