Club Brugge is bolstering its attack with the arrival of Colombian striker Kevin Angulo. The 18-year-old forward joins on loan from América de Cali. The deal includes an option to make the move permanent at the end of the season.

Angulo has already said goodbye to his teammates in Colombia and is set to travel to Belgium. The transfer is not yet fully finalized. Club Brugge currently sits second in the Jupiler Pro League with nine points from four games and has scored eight goals.

The club is investing in young attacking talent and Angulo fits that profile perfectly. The striker impressed in his home country, notably scoring twice in América de Cali's 7-0 win over Boyacá Chicó in early August. His arrival is meant to increase competition for the striker position.

Colombian football journalist Pipe Sierra confirmed the developments. "Angulo is about to leave Colombia behind and fly towards Belgium," Sierra said. Club Brugge has a strong defense this campaign, conceding only two goals with a goal difference of plus six.

The signing comes at a time when Club Brugge is performing well in the league. With a recent form of LWWW, the team is three points behind leaders Charleroi. Angulo's arrival gives coach Nicky Hayen additional options up front.

The loan structure gives both parties time to assess the fit before making a permanent decision. If Angulo succeeds, Club Brugge can buy him. If not, he will return to South America.

The immediate focus is now on the next league match. Club Brugge faces Lommel United, who are eighth in the table, on September 4th. That away game is the next opportunity to close the gap on Charleroi. The full schedule can be found on our fixtures overview.

With this reinforcement, Club Brugge hopes to maintain pressure on the leaders. The season is still young, but every point counts. The current league table is always available on our standings page. Angulo's first task is to adapt to European football, with the hope of making his debut soon.
