Club Brugge is disappointed with AZ's attitude and is now looking for another transfer option. The top transfer of Peer Koopmeiners to Club Brugge seems to be off the table. Transfer journalist Mounir Boualin reports that AZ has rejected a second bid from Club Brugge for Koopmeiners. The Belgians would have offered a sum of 13 million euros for the 26-year-old midfielder, but the Alkmaarders would have even refused to discuss a possible departure of Koopmeiners. The second rejection seems to have far-reaching consequences: "Club Brugge is disappointed with AZ's attitude and is now looking for another transfer option. As a result, Peer Koopmeiners is likely to see his transfer go off the table again", writes Boualin on X. As a result of the possible collapse of the deal, the chances that Koopmeiners, who is still tied to AZ until mid-2028, will extend his contract are now considered more realistic, according to the transfer journalist. Koopmeiners went through the youth academy of AZ, just like his older brother Teun (now a player for Juventus). After the club loaned him to Excelsior and Almere City in turn, he broke through to the first team in the past few years. Last season, Koopmeiners played 50 official matches for AZ, scoring 4 goals and providing 3 assists. Yesterday, the midfielder spoke out during the pre-match press conference ahead of the Johan Cruijff Schaal match between AZ and league champion PSV about the interest of the Belgians in his person.
