Club Brugge reaches agreement with RB Salzburg over striker Baidoo
Club Brugge appears to have found a new attacking reinforcement. According to rumors, the Belgian champions have made a bid for Edmund Baidoo of Red Bull Salzburg. Meanwhile, Sportsworldghana reports that both clubs have reached an agreement over a transfer of around nine million euros.
Why is this important for Club Brugge?
The Belgian champions would have already reached a personal agreement with the 20-year-old Ghanaian, making only a deal between the two clubs necessary. According to Sportsworldghana, that final hurdle has now been overcome. The medium reports that Club Brugge and Red Bull Salzburg have reached an agreement over a transfer fee of around nine million euros.
What's next?
Baidoo would have deliberately chosen to make the move to Jan Breydel, as he wants to continue his development through Club Brugge and eventually make the step to a top European competition. Baidoo broke through definitively last season at Red Bull Salzburg. The quick 20-year-old (flank) striker scored seven goals and six assists in 44 matches. One of those goals was scored in the Champions League qualifying match against Club Brugge. Notably, Club Brugge also showed interest in Baidoo in the past. He chose RB Salzburg then, however.
Currently, Club Brugge is in 7th place in the Jupiler Pro League, with 0 points scored. The club has not scored any goals this season and has also not conceded any goals (0 goal difference).
